PlayStation 3 the new look and feel version
PlayStation 3 has a new look and feel with PlayStation 3 Slim. The newer version is now in-house and comes in a matte-laden beaut. One prominent feature change, as the name would suggest is of course that it is slimmer and much lighter!
Some of the other new features include physical front row buttons which need actual clicking for functioning. Besides, the PS logo does not rotate for vertical use. Now the hard drive is swappable. A screw at the bottom enables one to take off part of the front to make it accessible.

Now if one were to make a comparison between the original and the slim version and Xbox 360 one common question would be regarding the finish of the products. Compared to Microsoft’s console, ’slim’ is a bit rougher but about the same weight. One thing that doesn’t change is its glossiness at the sides just like the original version.
Another important point of consideration- the noise from the consoles. Taking 49 as a baseline, the Slim had an average of 53 to 56 decibel when in use. The usage here that we are talking about is while playing the game or while installing data. The same number for the original stood at 55 to 58 decibel. Meanwhile one major variation came in for usage as far as Blu-ray movie playback is concerned. Here the slim went up for 60 db while the older version went off to 70 db for the same disc.
That’s about the new features of ‘PlayStation 3 Slim’. These are the most noticeable changes and rest remains unchanged or very slightly changed.
