PlayStation 3 base nearly 24 million strong

Submitted on 2009/08/04 No Comment

Sony recently released some figures for its product users and according to the list, the PlayStation 3 user base is now 23.8 million strong. If one were to further evaluate these numbers, it would mean that eight million people are being quincied in PlayStation Home.

PlayStation 3 base

If we assumed that everyone has one controller, we will reach a staggering figure of 144 million as the number of motion control out there in the PlayStation world. But this also means that PlayStation is behind its competitors in the overall games world. Compare those figures to other console producers. Wii has nearly same number of users in the US itself while Xbox 360 has touched 28 million users.

So on a comparative basis the numbers do look a wee bit small but on an individual basis the company isn’t doing too bad for itself. Hopefully by the year end they will have furthered their stronger position .
