Gravity Crash: Game review

Submitted on 2009/11/24 No Comment

Gravity Crash is basically a physics-based game of shooting, which is kinda common nowadays and many will be possibly made in the future. Even if it looks a bit nifty, its aesthetic advantage is its retro background with wireframes and vector art doing a not-so-classic experience for the game.

Gravity Crash

Along with its retro style, it is a great move for the makers of Gravity Crash to offer a very challenging, firm, single-player game. The main star of the game is obviously gravity and your role is just to play the part of the spacecraft, however little it is. Gravity, similar to the game The Man, will always pull you down and lets you collide into stuff at the expense of being laughed at by your friends. Only your ship’s thrusters, force shields and blasters are your key weapons to combat this unfortunate power of gravity.

A nice feature is that the game is offering a pair of different control schemes – you can choose to invoke any of the weapons simultaneously! Similar to the manual and automatic the cars in real life possess, stick-and-buttons’ harder to deal with, however, it is amateur-friendly, easier to control. Using thumbsticks satisfy the gamers’ needs, though it’s a bit more intuitive and risky. Any choice you make, Gravity Crash will for sure challenge you. Your ship will be destroyed if you collide even slightly with a wall or any solid obstacle throughout the campaign.

The force shield has two plausible settings you can use to be able to pass through the gauntlet. The automatic one gets activated when you get slammed into chaff, but, to gain back the power, you are obliged to pick up charging crystals along the way. Manual shields, on the other hand recharge by themselves over a period of time but you have to be very accurate or you’re dead. If the original plan was made to reality – it would suck as these customization options made it more wonderful to play than it would be. Making your own gameplay style is very critical especially in a game like this.

If you’re a weakling, you don’t stand a chance especially at the later levels when Gravity Crash makes it more challenging – probably to the point that you’ll scream for your momma to help you! This is because you will need to pass through each of the levels under time pressure; you will probably be seeing time and time again the vector graphics you’ve been seeing from the start as if you die, you lose all the score you have.

What’s the advantage of playing Gravity Crash? It has a strong and handy level editor that will make a series of fun and nicely-made content which can be downloaded by addicts in no time. The game also possesses a splitscreen multiplayer mode. With all this in low price, Gravity Crash is fairly awesome. You can download gravity crash here .
